Amouage was born in 1983 in Muscat, at the will of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who wanted to create a gift worthy of Omani royal tradition. The house engaged Givaudan perfumers and chose to work exclusively with the highest quality ingredients: Taif roses, Bangladeshi oud, labdanum, Omani frankincense, grey ambergris, and pure musk.
